I’m planning to open up commissions soon for the ~*first time ever*~, and so have been struggling to get my rusty digital art gears going again! Here’s some more fanart of fanart, meganrinri’s lovely Wonder Woman outfit design.

Wednesday, new comics day. Due to my work schedule and not living all that close to my local comic shop, Wednesday was the day I learned what was in my pull only to pick it up days, sometimes weeks, later. Thanks to digital comics, I’m now enjoying a little of the fun that comes from reading issues once they release. And for someone who always wants things the minute they release, the instant gratification of digital comics is awesome. Though dangerous for my wallet, as my dropping of $25 on Comixology’s Journey into Mystery sale proves.
But what’s the fun in reading if you’re not sharing? I’m hoping to start sharing my picks of the week with all of you, every week. If I can, I may even slip in an early review here and there. I was hoping to do that with this week’s Adventure Time titles, but first I need to catch up.
All right, enough exposition, on to the comics!
Adventure Time #16

THE FIRST ISSUE OF A NEW ARC AND THE PERFECT JUMPING-ON POINT FOR NEW READERS! It’s an all-new adventure for Finn, Jake and the gang from critically acclaimed writer Ryan North! The best all-ages series of 2012 continues!
Well how freakin’ perfect? A brand new arc just asking for new readers. Seriously though, if you’re a fan of the cartoon and you’re not reading the comic you’re missing some of Finn and Jake’s best adventures in Ooo.
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake #5

When Fionna rescues a feral flame boy from a pack of wild fire lions, it starts her on a quest she’ll never forget… Don’t miss out on this sure-to-be INSANELY popular new ADVENTURE TIME mini-series!
So I love Finn and Jake, but I’m in love with Fionna and Cake! It’s a serious relationship at this point. While I dream of this duo getting their own ‘toon, the comic fulfills my dreams of more Fionna and Cake. Coming from the mind of Fionna & Cake’s creator, Natasha Allegri this series is a must, MUST read.
Aquaman #20

Aquaman’s right to the throne is put to the test when an Atlantean rises up to defend the city—an Atlantean who many others believe should be King. “Death of a King” part 3.
All right, this one I’m getting more out of faith in the series, rather than being particularly excited for this issue. I’m a proud Aquaman fangirl and will likely continue with this book as long as Johns is writing because I’ve enjoyed his re-invigoration of the character. That being said, this isn’t likely to be a good one for new readers. Still, any other Aqua-fans out there?
Young Avengers #5

The book where a character says “I did it half an hour ago” normally means doing “it” half an hour ago reaches its first epic conclusion. Why Did Loki Do It? No one kno… okay, we’ll tell you…Well, part of it. Miss America probably punches someone. She usually does.
Were I to have a pick of the week, this would be it. Uh, which I guess means I just picked my pick of the week. Kid Loki is what brought me into this book, and while he remains a huge part of its appeal, the whole team has grown on me. Particularly Wiccan & Hulking’s adorable relationship, and Noh-Varr’s ability to charm and kick ass as good as any space adventurer. Add in Kate Bishop’s bullshit detector and America’s brute force and you’ve got one hell of a team. Young Avenger’s is easily the most fun I’m having with comics.
There be my picks. What are you reading?

RECAP/REVIEW: Arrow – Episode 21 – “The Undertaking”
Finally, at 21 episodes in, Arrow is beginning to move towards its finale. And with its dragging pace, to only be getting us to this point now further proves 23 episode orders for a TV series are tiresome. As I look back over this season there are so many episodes, so many villains of the week, that served no purpose other than fattening the story so the overall plot could fill 23 episodes. Can you imagine what a heart-pounding, thrilling season we could have had were they to stick with only 10 to 12 episodes?…

We’re so close to the end of the first season, what have thought of Arrow so far? Worthy of a second season?
Iron Man suits through the years (2008-2013)
Saw Iron Man 3 last night. It’s fantastic! Easily as good as the first, much, MUCH better than the sequel. Not quite as good as The Avengers, but, I don’t think any of us expected that.
RDJ give his best performance, yet, as Tony.
Pepper Potts rocks.
The Mandarian is quite unexpected, and I genuinely enjoyed the surprise.
Funny. Very Funny!
Definitely stay after the credits, Science Bros.
