Finally caught up on DC Nation’s short series, Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld. It’s wonderful, love the magical girl anime influence. Watch all seven shorts above, but it stinks the final video’s quality is pretty bad .
I would watch 22 or whatever minutes of this a week. Plus, I’d buy the toys because apparently that’s what you need to do to keep your favorite ’toons on TV.
Well I’ve started this year off with a bang. First day back to work and, BAM, posted five articles. I’d like to think I’m setting a precedent for the rest of my year, but I doubt it. This spurt of productivity is surely a fluke.

Oh, and if you missed this super cute post from earlier, I got a puppy! His name is Hodor - think Game of Thrones - and he’s already too adorable and smart for his own good. Also, a lot of damn work! I’ve concluded this puppy is basically baby training. If I can keep a baby dog alive I guess I can keep a baby human alive, right?

If you’ve followed me and what I write about for even a smidgen of time you’ll know I love cartoons and super heroes. Even more so when they’re combined. As a kid I watched tons of Batman: The Animated Series, X-Men, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but looking back I can’t help but notice what boys clubs they were. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED those shows and still do, but I might not have been such a tomboy had I been shown examples of girls who could both beat the bad guys and go on shopping sprees with their girl friends. When I was a kid I was convinced you had to pick one over the other. And I wanted to kick butt which meant nothing “girly” for me.
Thankfully, I believe we’re making progress away from such contrived gender stereotypes.
