Susan G. Komen For The Cure Pulls Planned Parenthood Funding.

We try not to be political, but last year we raised over $1300 for the Komen Foundation, so this right here upsets us. A large portion of what you donate to Komen goes not to cancer research, but to help women get proper preventative treatment for breast cancer. Pulling funding from an organization that exists to provide women’s health care for those without medical insurance is stunning.

We have a dozen 13 of our Race for the Cure t-shirts left. (6 size XL, 3 size XXL, 5 size XXXL.*) We’ll send them — for free — to the first 12 people to donate to Planned Parenthood in light of this news. You just have to email us your receipt of donation. (comments AT geektress DOT com.)

*Anyone with a good instructional how to repurpose a too-big t-shirt, send it our way!

And hey look, it’s me on the right! What d’ya say? Who wants a free, awesome Wonder Woman/Breast Cancer Awareness tee? DONATE!

Do you live in the central Ohio area (specifically Columbus) and want to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure? Do you want to walk with fellow geeks and then hang out after wards? Well, you should definitely be joining group started by @Geektress (www.geektress.com).
Here’s the link to join our group. If you can’t join we’d love donations (you can donate on the same page). We’re hoping raise $1,000 for cancer research!
