Rad Recs!

All right, so in a shameless steal from one of my fave ladies, Felicia Day, I wanted to start recommending stuff cool stuff I like à la her “Fave Five” segment on the new weekly show, The Flog. And probably provide some insight in to what I’ve been up to lately. Maybe. I don’t know, committing to two premises might be asking too much but we’ll see how this goes.

To start off I need an awesome title for my recommendation posts. With “Fave Five” already in use I’ll just re-purpose the same idea and call these, “Rad Recs”, which is short for rad recommendations. Awesome? Yes, great. I think it’d be even cooler if I called them “Rad Rex” but then I’d fear I’d mislead people looking for rad dinosaurs. But who knows, maybe a totally rad tyrannosaurus rex will appear in”Rad Recs.” Only time will tell.

Had to share ‘cause you people should definitely be checking this show out. It’s Tabletop on the new Youtube channel, Geek & Sundry (I wrote an article about the launch here). Geek & Sundry is one of great new Youtube channels that launched today, this one from Felicia Day. The show Tabletop is the brainchild of Wil Wheaton and it’s basically him teaching a new tabletop game to a group of celeb-friends. This episode features Grant Imahara, Jenna Busch and Sean Plott learning and the playing the game, Small World.

I don’t know about you, but I think I want to pick up this game. Who wants to have a game night?

At long last, it can be revealed: Felicia and I wrote a Fawkes comic together.

Felicia Day and The Guild are back, along with costar Wil Wheaton, for a brand-new story spotlighting Fawkes, the dashing, debonair, and douchey leader of the evil guild Axis of Anarchy! His relationship with Codex threatened to tear the Knights of Good apart until he was thrown off a balcony for his treatment of her. Set after season 4 of the show, this issue reveals how Fawkes deals with his split from Codex and navigates the aggressive personalities of the Axis, and follows his journey to his surprising state when he returns in season 5!

I’m incredibly proud of this, and I can’t wait for people to read it.

It comes out on May 23, and is the first issue set during the series. Covers by Paul Duffield and Emma Rios, art by Jamie McKelvie.

Season 3 of The Guild! It’s here! Okay, it’s been here and I only now got around to watching it. But check out the embed-ability of the video, it’s so shiny and new!

All I gotta say is, Wil Wheaton FTW! I’m super excited for this season, rival guilds!
