A new year with new rumors. The word from Cosmic Book News is Lex Luthor will indeed appear in Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and he’s to be played by Bradley Cooper. I know, I’m kind of scratching my head about this too. Can you imagine Cooper in a bald cap?
Here’s the scoop…
At the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas (Yes, it’s an actual thing.) the studios are set to premiere the promotional logos for their big, upcoming movies. Of course, the movies requiring the much-hyped advertising and licensing are the comic book movies and we’ve got sneak peaks of their logos. Are they amazing, new and different? No, but hey, it’s the beginning of the promotional push for films like Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man, so you know, be at least a little excited.
In addition to these revealed logos, Marvel has released the first promotional image for The Avengers (seen above). It shows the whole team in costume, and it’s our first real look at Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. The Hulk doesn’t look all that different from any other time we’ve seen him, but whatever, it’s only their first image.
Check out the new logos in a gallery over at Nerd Bastards.

We already know Faora will supposedly appear at the right hand of General Zod (Michael Shannon) in Zack Snyder‘s Superman: Man of Steel, now we might know whose playing the kick-ass Kryptonian. Variety is reporting, via Superhero Hype, they’ve tapped German actress, Antje Traue for the role. A relative unknown, at least for big budget, super hero movies, Traue co-starred in the sci-fi move, Pandorum and will be in the upcoming, 5 Days of August. We’re still waiting on official confirmation but until then Traue seems like a fantastic choice for Zod’s right hand lady.
If you’d like a refresher on what a crazy bitch Faora is, here ya go. I think she’ll be a welcomed addition to Snyder’s Superman. We’ve already seen her on the big screen, sorta, as she was the inspiration for Ursa in Superman and Superman II. Of course, I think they neglected to include her killer hand-to-hand combat skills in those films so here’s hoping this Faora is a truer incarnation of the character.
We all want to see Superman flattened by a woman, we just need the right woman to do it. Is that Antje Traue? I don’t know, but I’d love to see her try.

A short synopsis that could very well be the plot of Zack Snyder‘s Superman: Man of Steel has been leaked online by Baseline Studio System. For the time being consider this only rumor, but here’s what they’ve posted…
Ooooh, cliffhanger! Jump to Nerd Bastards to read what could, maybe, possibly be the plot of the next Superman film.

This bit of breaking news comes from the source who broke Kevin Costner being cast at Pa Kent, confirmed Lois Lane in the film and Zod as the villain. This is rumor, but a rumor you should pay lots of attention to. The word is the female villain in the film is Zod’s right hand lady and no it’s not Ursa…well kinda…

Still Unsure About Sucker Punch? Watch the First Six Minutes Online, Legally!
(cross-posted w/nerdbastards.com)
Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch has been talked about quite a bit since it’s opening last weekend, and unfortunately not for great reasons. I haven’t had the chance to take in the sexy girl, samurai and dragon fightin’, nerdgasm, fantasy epic yet so I in no way have much of an opinion. (read NB’s Editor-in-chief, Luke Gallagher’s review here) I do plan on seeing it, but you can understand how my enthusiasm waned when every was telling me it was utter crap. Currently Sucker Punch is holding a 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and it only made $19 million it’s opening weekend. Yikes!
Maybe you’re still on the fence about whether or not you want to cough up the $10 bucks (or $12 or $15 depending where you live and if you want 3D & Imax) to see Sucker Punch. Well Warner Bros. really wants you to see Sucker Punch, so much so they’ve released the first six minutes of the film online. They want you to share in Snyder’s fantasy, and they would like to make a little of that $82 million budget back. Double yikes!
Watch above and let me know if you’ve changed your mind about seeing Sucker Punch. Has this little appetizer peaked your interest?

The L.A. Times scored the exclusive news today that Amy Adams (Enchanted, The Fighter) has been cast as intrepid reporter, Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s reboot of Superman. She’ll be joining Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, whom she is nine years older than, and Kevin Costnerand Diane Laneas the Kents. Snyder made the call to Adams while he was in Paris promoting his most recent film, Sucker Punch…
