Is Robert Kirkman “George Lucas-ing” ‘The Walking Dead’ TV Series?

Y’know, by keeping around characters who should be totally, definitely dead by now. ::cough:: Shane ::cough::

SPOILERS! More Set Photos from The Dark Knight Rises, Epic Battle Caught on Film

Over the weekend Nerd Bastards shared some shots of Tom Hardy in full on, Bane get-up. Those pics also gave us our first glimpse of the new Tumbler, which was a little bit of let down with it’s Desert Storm paint job, at least for me. Today, we’ve got a gallery of images featuring a Batman-Bane rumble, and they provide our best look at the film thus far. In the brawl it’s either Christian Bale or his stunt double, hard to tell when they’re in the cowl.

Also included after the jump are a handful of videos taken from scenes being film in Oakland, Pa and at Carnegie Melon. In some of the videos you can even catch Christopher Nolan directing! Caution, genius at work.

Jump over to Nerd Bastards to enter the spoilery world of Gotham.

When I told him that I did not want to buy his dog-eared copy of THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #3, a comic that he claimed was “wicked valuable”…

Ha! Of course this totally reminds be I need a copy of The Return of Bruce Wayne #4. Dog-eared or not.

Green Arrow #13

Written by J.T. KRUL; Art by DIOGENES NEVES and VICENTE CIFUENTES; Cover by JOSHUA MIDDLETON
In BRIGHTEST DAY Green Arrow faced his darkest demons and emerged on the other side every bit the hero of Star City. But will those he hurt and abandoned be as forgiving toward him? And what will The Queen now do to combat Green Arrow’s positive image? Maybe she needs a hero of her own!

A lot of people are assuming (and hoping) the silhouette here is Mia. Maybe. I’m not sold on it yet. What I am in love with is this cover. Seriously, GA’s covers have been really unimpressive, kind of like his current series all together. But as the blah-fest that is Brightest Day is drawing to a close we can hopefully get to some interesting GA stories. And more pretty covers.
But DC, if you’re listening. I really, really, really want Mia Dearden back. I don’t care if she is pelting Ollie with arrows. Hell, he probably deserves it.

Hmm. Not sure what to think of this cover. I like where it’s going, particularly Harley back at the Joker’s side. Here’s the preview from DC’s The Source Blog,

Shocking ending, huh? I should probably know better than to get my hopes up, a true reunion is too much to hope for. Click through for more of DC’s Bat books’ solicits.

Hrm, interesting what that little filenote says in terms of her ‘emotional metamorphosis’… how will this come across in the end script, I wonder?

Interesting indeed. I’m still not won over by her outfit in this game. I actually really enjoyed her nurse outfit in Arkham Asylum as I felt it was character appropriate; Harley would dress up to play nurse in the asylum as her and the Joker take over, it’s funny, demented and dangerous. But this outfit looks too harsh with no sense of humour.

After reading the little description about her for Arkham City I’m more accepting of the look. If she is under a lot of pressure and stress it could be making her into a tougher person, and it’s reflected in her outfit. Her style choice is most definitely more “erratic and vicious.” So, okay, AC I’m a little less upset with new look, but you better really sell it in the video game.

Still wish they went with a mask instead of the dark eye make-up.

Can this cosplay be any more awesome and classy? I’d love to know the story and inspiration behind it.

Rarely do we see Oracle fan art, and even rarer is artwork of her that is this stunning. Bravo, Lorena Carvalho.

In this series I look at characters who have been “put on ice” by DC — they are alive but without any book or storyline. Previously entries are Amanda Waller, Grace Choi and Vixen.

Today, I look at Mia Dearden aka Speedy.

I whole-heartedly agree! While I love Green Arrow because archers are awesome, there could be some more women in the bow and arrow game. Speedy was the answer. Black Canary (another of my favorites) appears in quite a few of the Arrow books, but Speedy was the first chick to pick up a bow. Well, there is the character Arrowette, but personally I don’t know enough about her. Meaning she hasn’t been receiving any attention either!

You’d think with the recently introduced, Artemis on Young Justice we’d be seeing more of Speedy. Or hell, the character on YJ could have been this female Speedy. And I guess she still could be. Roy Harper’s Speedy is still a character on YJ, or is he going by Arsenal now? I don’t remember.

Anyway, bring our Mia back DC!! They’ve recently brought back the Letter to the Editor section in the comics. I think my first letter is going to be, “Why the fuck isn’t Mia in the Green Arrow book?! We’ve got Phantom Stranger, Jason Blood/Etrigan and Mr. Terrific and no room for Mia!? Ridiculous.”

So cute!

Some incredible Harley Quinn fanart. Seriously, incredible. Note, Arkham City, this  is how you make Harley look different, “grittier” even and still keep her appearing cute and in character.
P.S. AC, I’m gonna buy you and the play the shit out of you and love every minute. But that hair and eye makeup? What were you thinking.
